Let me first start off by saying, I never felt or thought when I was a newbie recruitment consultant I would have thought those words would come out of my mouth nor word I have put this into the written word! But it's true... being a recruitment consultant is one of the best jobs in the world and I am going to provide a few reasons why.

Just like being a trader all you need is your phone/laptop and data/internet and you can work anyplace on the planet! So let's talk a bit about being mobile this means freedom, this means travel and not having to work in one fixed point location to get the job done, being a trader you are a slave to the market and it is an extremely complicated and complex world (trust me I have been to many courses).

Being a recruitment consultant moulds you into being confident, resilient, resourceful, time focused and an outstanding communicator.

Let's touch on a few of these points.

Confidence

This is not a quick process, I get that, but as you progress in your career talking with strangers on the phone, in person, over video and giving presentations the natural side effect is your confidence shines, this makes you naturally better when it comes to your own personality your own social circles.

Resilience

This for me is one of my favourite accomplishments, being a recruitment consultant you get told no, no, no, no all day long, and then you get a YES! then the client says actually it's a NO 🙄 and that's only the client's side of things, just like a weightlifter would get calluses on their hands as toughing and strengthening the skin you will get calluses of your mind making your mindset stronger and able to pursue and achieve when most give up. That trait is one of the most powerful abilities to obtain to achieve success.

Resourceful

We deal with people all day everyday, and do the sometimes impossible by finding profiles that our customer/clients/partners thought never be found, our skills of search, selection becomes outstanding, you understand more the psychology of ones thoughts allowing deeper connections outside of your working career and you become an exceptional problem solver/solution provider for your friends and family

The above-mentioned means your superpower is being an outstanding communicator.

It's not complicated, you do not hold any physical products, and you do make anything there is no logistic like working in a retail/manufacturing type of industry, this is why being a recruitment consultant you can be rewarded fairly because "you" are creating something from nothing and it's not physical, you could compare a successful recruitment business to the likes of Uber, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc... they don't hold physical products but provide a service.

The pure joy and accomplishment of building a successful client base from nothing are one of the best feelings ever, you are rewarded with the commission when you generate income so you really start to understand business, profit and loss, if you keep your focus you will be earning more than doctors, solicitors etc.

Lastly the most important part, is you will have a lot of fun, from networking events, team events, and social gatherings to just making any excuse to have a great day.
